Lorraine creates, develops and cultivates opportunities for people to work together to explore, enquire, educate and engage. With over 20 years’ of educational engagement experience, she initiates, develops and manages creative, collaborative programmes, and is particularly enthusiastic about training and supporting others in advancing their own practice and confidence. This is illustrated by her favourite programme which supports young people (5-18) in engaging their own communities with science topics they are genuinely passionate about, which includes environmental science.
Lorraine has worked on multiple educational initiatives for and with schools, universities, science centres, festivals, and educational and community organisations in the UK and elsewhere in Europe.
Lorraine is currently Deputy Director of Science Engagement at Durham University, NE Regional Representative for the Ogden Trust and Primary Science Network Coordinator for County Durham.
She is also proud to be a Primary Science Capital Teaching Approach Accredited Trainer and CLEAPSS Primary Ambassador.
