Helen Robinson is a hydrogeologist and hydrogeochemist whose work spans water, geothermal energy, mining, environmental protection and humanitarian projects. She is the Founder of Aquarius Resources and has spent more than a decade working in the UK and internationally, particularly across sub-Saharan Africa.
Helen took a less traditional route into geoscience herself, so she understands that careers rarely follow a straight line. She is passionate about helping young people recognise the value of their interests, experiences and different ways of thinking—even when they do not yet know where these might lead.
She is especially interested in the connections between water, energy, natural resources, climate and communities. Helen encourages young people to look beyond individual subjects, ask difficult questions and think about who a solution helps, what else it might affect and whether it will work in the real world.
As a Project Earth Advisor, Helen offers practical, honest and supportive guidance. She helps young people build confidence, explore their ideas without being afraid of getting things wrong, and turn their early thinking into solutions that are useful, responsible and achievable.
