Dougie has been working with climate change all his life. He helped found Climate Café in 2015. Climate Café is a community led, relaxed informal pop-up space in someone’s community where they can come have a cup of tea and a biscuit and can have a talk about climate. Then when chat happens action comes from that whether that’s big or small it makes a difference in people communities.
He trained as a Climate Reality Leader in Rome in 2024 where he also worked with Professor Mark Maslin to host a Climate Café.
Dougie has pitched on Climate Café in schools and at Pitch for the Planet at the Royal Institution in June 2026.
He has also been to three change NOW conventions (the biggest convention for solutions for the climate in the world) where he has been talking about Climate Café, explaining the concept and supporting new starts.
