I have been teaching science in secondary for more than 20 years and for much of that time I have been based in the secondary science classroom. I am passionate about the climate and sustainability as well as literacy in science. I currently work at a fantastic school in Rochdale where I work alongside dedicated community partners to develop projects to engage families and young people in STEM learning.
I have taught in the primary setting, have been an A level and GCSE examiner for Biology, a freelance writer for the EAL HUB and the Literacy Trust and have had the absolute privilege to be a judge for the Earth Echo ‘Our Echo Challenge’. I have been fortunate to attend the Science on Stage Festival as a UK delegate in 2024 where I showcased our school project to replenish sphagnum moss in the Yorkshire Moors. I am beyond excited to be attending again in 2026 showcasing a joint project with an amazing school in Croatia looking at how our school communities can advocate for the protection of endangered species in our Iocal areas.
